Well, I have been getting lots of email about people wondering what a registry cleaner really is? Well in short a registry cleaner is a application which scans your system for corrupt files, obsolete files and invalid entries in the registry aiming at improving the speed and performance of your computer.

So what is the registry? Windows function on the basis of its system registry. The registry contain entries revolving around all the software, hardware and system in all. There are literally hundred of thousands of these kind of entries and sometimes they wound up corrupt. There are several reasons too why this happens but some are more common then others.

  • Failed software removal – When you install and remove any kind of software you usually end up with entries and files in your system which will allocate unnecessary resources.
  • Temporary files – Nearly all software create some kind off temporary files during use. At times these files will not be deleted, taking up unwanted space on the hard drive.
  • Temporary registry entries - Some people estimate that during a days use well of thousand new registry entries are added to the registry, and as many as 40% of them will never be used again. It adds up!

So when you do run your registry cleaner it will run through your file system and registry and locate these error and others too, for today’s software detect allot more then the above stated, they are just the primary errors occurring in your system.

One important thing to keep in mind is that, even though these applications can bring a significant performance boost to your computer they are not fail-safe! Always use a software with a back-up feature. This will save you lots of time when something do go wrong.

So you see, there are many different free registry cleaners on the market today, some free and some that cost, so finding the right one for you might be a bit of a hassle. Free Registry Cleaner Review: Do I got a corrupt registry?

February 3rd, 2009 No Comments   Posted in Registry Cleaner Articles

Well, that is hard to say. It is very common that people blame issues related to the registry on other parts of their system. I can understand them, it isn’t always a walk in the park to trace these kind of problems. Fortunately I have noticed that there are some key indicators reviling if you need a free registry cleaner or not. These errors are more the often related to a corrupt registry and should be treated as such.

  • Error Messages – Any unfamiliar error message that appear on your screen indicating some kind of issues with the system or applications installed.
  • Crashes – If your computer crashes without any kind of notice this is most likely related to your registry.
  • Random Freezes – Of you computer at times, without notice and just for a short time behave like it was stuck in glue then you most likely have some issues with a corrupt registry entry.
  • Slow computer - My not be an error. More of an issue of something that build over time when you remove, and install software. Caused by small instances of information left in the registry but still consuming using computer resources.
  • Bootup Time - Does starting your computer take forever? This is also related to information left in the registry.
  • Malfunctioning software – Does your software refuse to start? This is most likely related to connections within the registry and the system.

Any of these issues are more or less a sure sign of a corrupt registry. I have experienced cases with all the issues listed above and I can tell you, it is a nightmare to fix them. Even if you are able too.

From my standpoint either you flush your whole computer or use a free registry cleaner. I have tried both, and I can tell you, they might give the same result but the latter save you heaps of time. When you flush your computer you need to take back-ups of all your valuable information, re-install all the software you had on it and set everything up. A days work in some cases.

That’s where the free registry cleaners and my reviews of them come in handy. Just read up on them, install one of them and run it. I’m sure that in under 20 minutes your computer will much certainly be back to normal, flushing all the errors and not all your time down the toilet.
